In another unprecidented and bizarre twist, I ran into yet another person I knew from high school at a Park City concert. I swear, that city is crawling with my former high school classmates. In this case I ran into someone I actually knew in a slightly more than vague way. I was involved in the drama department with him, but didn't know him well enough for him to recognize me or to talk to him. And it's not like I won't run into him again. I saw him in late June at a city art festival (drinking) and again a month later at the Liz Phair show, also drinking. Seeing him yesterday and then realizing he was standing behind me at last night's Better Than Ezra show weirded me out a little bit. I mean, seeing someone three times in six weeks after not running into them in the four years since they've graduated? Bizarre. When the show ended, the two of us and another girl sat on the stage waiting for the band to return to chat and sign autographs. I should have talked to him at this point, but he seemed very drunk and unlikely to even remember where he went to high school. Plus, at this rate I'll see him again in another two weeks, probably with a beer in his hand and with a person I presume is his girlfriend, as she's been with him all three times I've seen him. So...yeah. Better Than Ezra. I suggest you check them out if you haven't, and if the last time you heard them was 1996, you should know that they aren't doing that alternative rock thing anymore. They haven't fallen off the face of the planet, and each album they make is better than the last.
