September 11, 2002 // 10:13 p.m. // You can hate me now

I feel I should add my comments on September 11th:

(Professor speaking about poetry. Is suddenly interrupted by a very loud and very deep rumble.)

Professor: "What's that?"

Me: "It sounds like a building collapsing."

Boy: (in a worried wavering voice) "Don't say that. Donnnnn't say that."

And that's how I turned the poetry class against me for a few minutes. I swear I forgot it was Sept. 11th, but I doubt that makes it any better. But for the record, it didn't sound like a plane. More like toppling a huge pile of bricks times 5,000.

You can hate me now.
