September 12, 2002 // 3:20 p.m. // Conversation: The Phone
12:19 a.m. Sis: "Just tell me when you need the phone." Me: "Whenever you're ready. I just need to charge it." "I've only been on it...oh. 99 minutes. Use your cell phone." "It doesn't have long distance." "But I use dad's to call Jamie all the time. Your phone does have long distance." "Fine, it does. And it's what, like 25 cents a minute?" "Yeah, but how long were you going to be on?" "A long time, which is why you need to hang up so I can let the phone to charge!" 2:46 p.m. "Why are you always on the phone? You have a cell phone!" "I don't have all the minutes in the world." "You have 3000." "No. I that's night time. I have 300." "Well, get a better plan." "Tell mom (to)." 5:55 p.m. Mom: "Mia....I need to use the phone." "We've all been saying that to her today." Welcome to the only time I've ever argued with my sister about the phone. I don't use it enough for it to be an issue. I guess I can't sympathize because I've had my current phone since December, but have used it only five hours twenty-one minutes and thirty-seven seconds, or 321 minutes. I'm allowed 300 daytime minutes a month alone, in addition to 3000 weekend and nighttime. So out of my allotted 29,700 minutes over the course of nine months, I've used 321. I'm definitely not getting the most out of my plan. Either that, or I desparately need to add long distance to it. Which she insists I have. She's so wrong. Today on Dismissed: Ben Affleck vs. Screech. "All we are saying is give Screech a chance."
