September 25, 2001 // 9:30 p.m. // Homecoming 1999 (Two years ago today)

It was actually this day at this very time that JM and I were leaving a local restauraunt to arrive at the Homecomimg dance. You would think I were asking out Pamela Anderson with the trouble I went through to get her to go with me. All of the balloons the three days of blowing them up, the poem, the note and most importantly, the three foot high heart-shaped frame.

Formal dances were new to me, so I was just as new to this whole thing as she was. I didn't order her corsage and had to run to two flower shops on the day of the dance to find one. I didn't buy my suit until a week before the dance either. Plus the entire trip was in my car that had expired plates (by a full two months) and was being cleaned as I was walking out the door. All of the plans were changed and rearranged when she told me she was vegan, and again when at the dance she told me she was tired.

9:00ish, we left the restauraunt, arrived at the dance, and found my friends. We went straight to the picture line where we met up with more people I knew, including Domo in his white tux and Tyler in his suit that looked like the lining of a 70's suitcases and a potato sack. It was here that I noticed the height difference. In class I was just a tad taller, but in heels, she sprouted past me and beyond. It was at least three inches.

So ungrateful if you ask me. Embarrased of me? That's what I thought when she tried to persuade me into not accompanying her as she went to talk to her friends, examine the pictures on the wall and find out where the band was from. Not only this, but nearly an hour before my friends and their dates were scheduled to go out for ice cream (this being only an hour after we arrived to the dance in which 30 minutes were spent in lines, 20 were spent ditching me, and only six or seven at best were spent dancing) she became impatient, and after a half hour of persisting, I agreed politely to leave to the surprise of Britt and the other six couples.

We went to Village Inn where she caught up with one of her old friends outside the restauraunt. Twenty feet later as we walked in, she spotted her ex-boyfriend, and asked if I wouldn't mind if she spoke with him. It was a lot of speaking. 5-10 minutes worth. I used this time to catch up with a group of girls at another table asking what school I was from and if this was our homecoming. When she returned she ordered a huge bowl of fruit, I ordered a strawberry shake and met the ex.

The date gets worse everytime I think about it.

The stats:

Numeral in the "Unlucky 13": 4.

CD: Goo Goo Dolls

Drive home quote: "You're a good driver."

Total spent: Without the suit, well over $200.

Coincidence between today and that day: Britney Spears.

Shocking fact learned: Porno watcher. She, not I.

Interesting fact: She wants to travel to Europe, had a crush on a waiter where we ate, was friends with T.E.N.T.

Post date interaction: Little to none. Just minor in class stuff.

Grade date: C-, D+ range.
