April 20, 2002 // 8:50 a.m. // Utah weather

I've been glued to the weather channel's website lately. You and you are so fortunate to be living in temperatures of 73 and 77 respectively. It's only 9:30 and 10:30 in the morning where you live! What's the temperature here? 30-34 degrees, with a high of 45 if we're lucky.

What's the story here?

A whole lot of this (Wednesday):

And this (today)

Snow. It's April 20, and it's snowed four straight days. Snow. In April. Maybe April snow will lead to May showers which will lead to June flowers and eventually July or August sunshine.

It's so cold in fact, I saw my breath while walking to the volunteer site at 1:15 in the afternoon. The heat was on in the car at six p.m. And, I went to school with three layers of shirts and two layers of pants.

Snow. All morning. In Ogden it's worse. It's a full blown storm all week.

Welcome to Utah. Where spring can be winter, autumn can be summer and winter can be cold and snowy one year, then mild the next.

Jason
